half the year is almost over and as with any "end" it feels like i should
have accomplished something. pero, as always, it seems like time just kind
of flew by without any significant progress on my part.
hah. jacqui, who now calls herself lanie, emailed me at sabi mag blog naman
daw ako ulet. oks, i'll try.
as an update, here's what 1/2 of 2007 has been like so far:
"You are the 'mother' of the house," says my dad as it's been just me,
my sister, and her sixteen-year-old cousin in the apartment. Mahirap din
when you have to think and take care of things like a burnt light bulb,
a rusty sink, and a toilet bowl that faces the wall. Bi-weekly drinking
water deliveries have to be coordinated, laundries have to be sent out,
and the garbage collector has to be paid, among other things.
When you work for a bank subsidiary, it's easier to get a credit card. I
have a BPI Edge, an Edge Mini, a BPI Classic card, an HSBC Red card and,
just recently, a Citibank Visa. My credit has exploded to preposterous
heights and I can't seem to get out of debt. I keep planning on spending
just the bare minimum but everyday I have Sausage McMuffins, Tofi Luks
and Sundaes. I can't buy cell phone load but I am forced to pay Late
Charges and Finance Charges. I have since stopped accepting offers for
new credit cards and when I pay all my outstanding balances (when oh
when?), I'm getting rid of these plastics!
"Dalaga ka na," ang words ni Jacqui-slash-Lanie. Kasama ng "pagdadalaga"
ang talks of marriage, promises of abstinence at daily battles with the
tempter. "Nagdalaga" ako dahil nagka-boyfriend ako. Now my new hobbies
include picking fights, being jealous, and the 'daily battles with the
tempter'. I've had back massages, brownies galore and red roses too.
Someone gets jealous over long talks with new guy friends, someone holds
my hand as I go down buses and stairs, and someone understands and says
'I love you'.
most things will stay the same, i think, through the end of the year
(although, hopefully, my credit balance won't).
